Lulu has two perfect speeds. Most of the time she’s the calmest soul in the house — soft, still, glowing like moonlight on a petal. But wave a feather or a jingly toy and whoosh! — out comes a tiny pink tornado who could play until the stars came out. In fact, she almost never tires. It’s always poor Gigi who flops first, while Lulu blinks up at her: “again?”

And the big cat, who has never met such quiet courage, gives a respectful nod and ambles on. The lesson, soft as a petal: you don’t have to be big to be brave, and calm is the strongest thing of all.
